Rachel and Burke got married at The Neu Neu Wedding and Event Venue in Minneapolis, and their whole day was the kind of energy I live for—intentional, cozy, full of meaning, and somehow both totally relaxed and absolutely electric by the end of the night.
Rachel and Burke didn’t want a wedding that looked perfect. They wanted a day that felt like them. And wow, did they nail it. Their day was just so freakin’ fun!! From getting ready to the minute those cat fatheads hit the dance floor, this day was FULL of joy, laughter, and the kind of chaotic magic that makes me love what I do. Let’s dive in!!
The whole day was held at The Neu Neu Wedding and Event Venue, a stunning and modern space right in their own neighborhood in Minneapolis. Rachel and her girls got ready upstairs in the light-filled bridal suite (seriously, that natural light? chef’s kiss!). Meanwhile, Burke got ready just down the road at their apartment before heading over for their sweet, casual first look.
After the couple got ready, they wanted to have a first look. However, they didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. They did a first look that was sweet and simple, no pressure, no performance, just a quiet moment between the two of them.
The Neu Neu Wedding and Event Venue in Minneapolis is a whole vibe on its own and set the perfect tone for the day. It’s got those exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and the perfect mix of industrial charm and cozy vibes. The space doesn’t ask for much extra, however, it is super customizable depending on your style.
Rachel & Burke filled the reception space with candlelight, earthy florals, and warm textures that made it feel like a dinner party you never wanted to leave. Guests could roam between dancing, mingling, grabbing drinks, or just soaking it all in—exactly what these two wanted.
If you’re dreaming of a Minneapolis wedding that feels laid-back and a lil’ bit fancy without being fussy? The Neu Neu is IT.
You know when you meet a couple and everything about their day screams this is so us? That was Rachel & Burke. They didn’t get caught up in traditions just for the sake of it. They curated a celebration that felt relaxed, personal, and FUN. Like, who needs golden hour portraits when you’ve got a band ready to rock and a crowd hyped up for one epic group photo to kick off the party? (Answer: not these two.)
They even brought out giant cutouts of their cats for the dance floor—yes, actual cat heads bobbing around as they partied with their people. ICONIC.
I’m gonna shout this from the rooftops forever: You don’t have to do it the “traditional” way. And Rachel & Burke are proof. They skipped golden hour photos and prioritized time with their people. They also didn’t want a lot of posed photos, but rather focused on those in-between moments to help them remember the day exactly as it felt.
They made space for meaningful moments—like a sweet indoor ceremony with one of their best friends officiating —and time for family photos afterward—but they didn’t let the “shoulds” take over.
Here’s the thing: You deserve to be fully present on your wedding day. To actually party at your party. To laugh until you cry during speeches. To dance like crazy with your guests. And if that means cutting some of the “expected” stuff? DO IT.
This day was a perfect reminder that the best weddings aren’t about following a template! They’re about telling your story. And from start to finish, Rachel & Burke did just that. Their Neu Neu wedding was heartfelt, playful, full of good food, and even better people.
If you’re planning a wedding in Minneapolis and want it to feel intentional, relaxed, and straight-up FUN? This is your sign to make it your own. Bring the Fatheads. Skip the sunset pics. Fill your day with joy.
