From honoring generations of family legacy to golden hour portraits that felt like a movie, Emily & Kyle’s elegant summer wedding in Bemidji Country Club was filled with love, laughter, and so many unforgettable moments.
And here’s the part that still makes me tear up… Emily literally moved her wedding date and venue bookings so that I could be the one to photograph their day. 🥹 In her own words: “Couldn’t have dreamed of anyone else.” What an absolute honor!
Emily and Kyle chose First Lutheran Church in Bemidji for their ceremony. This wasn’t just any church though. It’s the exact same place where Kyle’s parents and grandparents were married. Walking into that space carried so much weight and meaning. It really was a full-circle moment you could feel in the air.
Emily shared a sweet first look with her dad, followed by one with Kyle in the quiet of the sanctuary. The stained glass, the hushed atmosphere, the way they looked at each other—it all felt timeless. We even recreated a few portraits from Kyle’s parents’ wedding day, a tribute to the love stories that came before them.
For their reception, Emily & Kyle chose the Bemidji Town & Country Club, and let me tell you, this venue is so underrated! The inside is lined with wall-to-wall windows overlooking Lake Bemidji, and the outside? Lush green rolling hills of the golf course, dipping right down into the lakefront. It’s honestly one of the most beautiful backdrops for wedding portraits in Bemidji.
Kyle, being a golfer, was in his element here. He and his groomsmen even snuck in a little golf before the reception started, which was such a fun and personal touch to the day.
The reception itself was filled with sunshine pouring through the windows, heartfelt speeches, and the kind of joy you could feel radiating off every guest in the room.
One of my favorite parts of their day was their golden hour portraits. We made our way up the hill on the golf course for sweeping views of the lake, and the light could not have been more perfect. From there, we headed down to the dock, where Emily & Kyle had some of the sweetest, quiet moments together. They were so sweet and playful, just the two of them with the water and the pastel sky behind them. It felt like stepping straight into a romantic movie!
Between the dance floor energy, sparkler exit, and lakeside portraits, Emily & Kyle’s wedding day was everything a summer celebration in northern Minnesota should be. Filled with legacy, beauty, and joy that carried through every moment.
