After my second son, Soren, was born, I found myself already forgetting the way he fit in my arms, how small his features were, and all those little newborn details. I needed a way to hold onto them before they slipped away.

And so, The Sunroom Studio was born.

Why I Created The Sunroom Studio in Bemidji, MN

For years, I photographed newborn sessions in-home. And while that worked beautifully for some families, I realized it wasn’t always an option for everyone. Maybe the light wasn’t great, maybe the space was too small, or maybe mom just didn’t feel like home was the right backdrop in those tender first weeks. I was being asked again and again, “Do you have a studio?”

When I finally created one, I knew it had to be timeless and natural. I wasn’t interested in the kind of studio work you see so often with babies in costumes, propped in buckets, or surrounded by backdrops that distract from what really matters. I wanted to offer something different for families looking for newborn studio photography in Bemidji.

And we also have a client wardrobe with options for both mom and baby, so you don’t have to stress about what to wear (but you also get outfit suggestions from me if you want to bring your own clothes!)
  
• Stress-free and baby-led: We know newborn photography sessions can feel overwhelming. That’s why we build in plenty of time in the studio (1.5–2 hours), so you don’t have to worry about the baby needing feedings and diaper changes, or even toddler meltdowns. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced. Just calm, gentle moments as they unfold naturally.
