Let me just say… I am obsessed with how perfect Madi and Michael’s romantic engagement photos turned out! From the cozy golden hour snuggles to that magical blue hour moonrise over the lake, this session felt straight out of a movie, and I was here for every second of it!!

Madi & Michael are getting married at Bluebelle in September 2026 (ahhh, I’m already counting down the days!!), and their engagement session was a great way for us to connect, hang out, and give them the chance to feel comfortable in front of the camera before the big day.

Golden Hour Field Magic for Their Romantic Engagement Photos

We kicked off their session in a private field just outside of Bemidji—one of my secret little gems I’ve been lucky enough to gain access to. Madi mentioned she was dreaming of open golden grass and soft, glowy light for their engagement photos, and you know I made it happen!!

Helping my couples find unique, beautiful locations that actually align with their vision is a huge part of what I do. Over the years, I’ve built a whole mental map of special spots, from tucked-away trails to private land I’ve been granted access to, and it’s such a joy matching each couple to a location that feels like them.

The golden hour we got was absolutely cinematic. Between their gorgeous outfits, their obvious connection, and the way the light hit just right… the session was a dream!

Sunset + Blue Hour Beach Vibes for the Most Romantic Engagement Photos

After basking in all that glowy field goodness, we made our way to Lake Bemidji State Park to catch the last light of the evening. Madi wanted a beach setting for the second half of their session, and it was the perfect end to their day!

We got a soft pastel sunset, warm tones reflecting on the lake, and the sweetest, playful moments in the water. And, ahhh, THE MOON!! It was gorgeous!
