If you haven’t heard of The Atrium in Solon Springs, Wisconsin, you are missing out, and I need to change that immediately! A repurposed greenhouse tucked into the northern Wisconsin woods, just 35 minutes from Duluth, that somehow manages to feel like a West Coast rooftop garden party and a magical forest all at once? With towering trees on one side and ferns and vines climbing every wall? I meannnn. It is so completely, uniquely itself, and the second Lisa and Shane found it, I think they knew it was theirs!

The First Looks — Plural! 

One of my favorite parts of Lisa and Shane’s day was the sweet, emotional first looks. Lisa had first looks with her dad and her brothers separately. Her dad’s face when he turned around and saw her was pure, quiet pride. And her brothers, both grinning ear to ear in their matching khaki suits, were absolutely losing it the second she walked in. Those men love their girl so much, and it was written all over them. 

And then it was time for Lisa and Shane to finally see each other and share their private vows. Sitting together on those big wooden log benches in the wooded ceremony space, just the two of them, reading words they wrote for each other — that kind of intentional togetherness before all the emotion of the ceremony is something I will always be a huge advocate for. 

The Outdoor Ceremony at the Atrium in Solon Springs

The outdoor wooded ceremony space at The Atrium is what wedding dreams are made of. Guests are seated on log benches, surrounded on all sides by trees with fresh spring leaves just starting to come in, with the most lush floral arch overhead. 

And that flower bro! Okay, I will never not laugh thinking about this. One of their guys took his flower-scattering duties VERY seriously! It set the most perfect, joyful tone and honestly should be a requirement at every wedding going forward. Get a flower bro. You won’t regret it. 

Then Lisa came down the aisle on the arms of both her parents, and Shane’s reaction was EVERYTHING!

The Greenhouse Wedding Reception at the Atrium

Once the ceremony was over and the golden-hour portraits were out of the way (that light in the field??), everyone made their way into the greenhouse for the reception, and it was absolutely dreamy. 

Rustic tables with rattan placemats, brass candlesticks, garden-style floral arrangements with white roses, and the most gorgeous twinkle lights taking over once the sky went dark through those glass panels overhead. 

The first dance ended with the most swoony dip. They cut their delicious chocolate raspberry cake, and then Lisa disappeared briefly, came back in a sparkly fringe mini dress and cowboy boots, and absolutely owned that dance floor for the rest of the night. I mean. Yes. That is how you do it.
