Hey there, fabulous couples! I’m Amelia, the proud wielder of cameras and capturer of magical moments in Minnesota. 😉 Let me tell you something straight off the bat: when it comes to golden hour wedding photos, It’s a MUST HAVE!! Why? That’s exactly what I’m going to be sharing in this blog post!
Let’s dive into the magic that is the golden hour. For those unfamiliar, the golden hour is that gorgeous timeframe just after sunrise and before sunset when the world is bathed in the most ethereal, warm, and flattering light nature can offer. It’s like a built-in Instagram filter, only SO. MUCH. BETTER!!!
Let’s talk specifics. When it comes to golden hour wedding photos, you’re in for a treat! The light during this time is very soft due to the low angle it’s coming from and for the same reason it’s also very warm, but who am I telling, you’ve seen a golden sunset, you know what I’m talking about! And this combination is very powerful, because it’s incredibly flattering. It casts a romantic, dreamy glow that makes you both look like absolute royalty! ✨
We have to do a bit of planning to make sure we get to catch that golden hour for your wedding photos! This is what I help with with my couples as golden hour wedding photos are my JAM! I always look into the exact time sun is going to set on your wedding day. Then, schedule a window of at least an hour around these times, considering that the best light often appears 30 minutes before sunset.
Running off to capture the golden hour is one of my couples’ favorite parts of their wedding day, because they get to spend some alone time together AND get gorgeous wedding photos!
The golden hour will elevate even the most simple view to a magical backdrop! I do recommend choosing wedding venues with accessible outdoor areas for us to roam and catch that golden light! One of the venues I love that has a beautiful field for all the golden hour wedding photos is the Bluebelle Event Venue in Bemidji, MN!
Candid moments during golden hour are.. pure GOLD!! Don’t be scared to use the golden hour to slow down a little bit and breathe in the magic. You can see a beautiful example of capturing the golden shine here.
In the end, it’s not just about taking photos; it’s about creating stunning memories. And when these memories are bathed in the golden hues of the sun, the result is nothing short of pure magic!
So, let’s go out there, chase sunsets, and create golden hour wedding photos that will be cherished for years to come! If you’re as excited as I am, let’s get this golden hour party started! If you’re still on a lookout for your Minnesota wedding photographer, inquire here!
